@wallbreaker2 that’s just it. The Tuohy’s were start selfish. All they wanted was a excellent football player for their alma mater and some excellent publicity. If they were doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, they would’ve adopted all of Michael’s brothers and sisters.
@rockthe85deuce I’m sure it’s not as lovey dovey as it was described in the movie but, they still helped him out and even if they did it just to get a excellent football player for their alma mater what does it matter. If you do the right thing for the incorrect reason isn’t it still right?

regardless of if the tuohy’s did it for mike to go to the university they wanted, he is in the nfl now and can help out whoever he wants on his own. so if he wants to help his family out im sure he can with signing that 5 year over 13 million $ contrack. it was a excellent thing they did and a excellent tale

I really agree. the movie that is based on the incredible right tale of the tuohy family changing the life of a young man deserves an oscar BIG TIME! This movie must be ranked number one in the movies of 2009.

never read the book,but saw this movie 4 times. loved it,it is very inspirational and Michael was and is a very smart self. he appreciated the Tuohys for selection him and they helped him a lot and I am sure there are others who have been helped by uncommon families,we just know about Michaels tale. very nice tale. it really makes you reflect about a lot of things
