Any draft is stupid. Why should a player be told where he has to play, if only for a year. I know the argument for it is that it "evens up" the field, but the question is why the concern about things being equal? Sounds a bit socialist to me. IMO it points to the lack of real passion the average American sports fan really has. He is more concerned with equality that true survival of the fittest/best. New York can attract the best talent?
