Why is LaDanian Tomlinson allowed to wear a different facemask than the rest of the NFL?
I’m nοt referring tο hіѕ tinted visor, bυt rаthеr hіѕ facemask, whісh іѕ uniquely uncommon. I don’t reflect I hаνе seen аnу οthеr NFL player wear thіѕ facemask. Aren’t аll NFL players supposed tο bе outfitted similarly?
No
I’m sure you can wear anything that gets prior approval from the NFL
Kelso from the Bills used to have a special helmet himself..
Safety first..looks and uniform 2nd
As far as I know the NFL doesn’t regulate what type of facemasks you can and can’t use. And everyone doesn’t have to be outfitted similarly, some teams would rather have players outfitted similarly to show a sense of team unity but there’s no rule saying everyone must wear the same equipment. And people wear uncommon facemasks based on what’s practical for them so you really don’t want everyone wearing a similar face mask. You wouldn’t wan a wide receiver wearing a closed cage fasemask designed or a lineman or vice versa.
And his facemask isn’t that unique you probably just noticed it more because LT is such a high profile player, Lorenzo Neal had a very similar one last year when he was with the Chargers.
no – there is like 19 differnt types of masks. as long as they meet certain requrements ( not equipped with spikes) , its ok.
I’m sure if others wanted to wear the same, they could. Tomlinson is a class act so I don’t believe he’d be wearing anything uncommon just to be uncommon. I’m sure he has his reasons.
Just for the record, I’m a Vikings fan not a Chargers fan.
Its because his eyes are very sensitive to light — it gives him terrible migraines. that is why he wears the special tinted mask. Normally these aren’t allowed, so he had to get special approval from the league to wear it.
wow are you dumb. as long as the facemask doesnt hurt other players or himself then why would it matter what it looks like?
