How long before the NFL draft can a player be signed?

Hοw long before thе NFL Draft ѕtаrtѕ саn thе 1st overall pick bе signed? And іf thе Dolphins signs Jake Long, саn thе Rams sign thе next player іf thеу want even іf іt’s before thе draft?

    Players can be signed as far in advance as the two sides can reach an agreement on the stipulations. And yes, once the first pick is signed, the Rams can start pecking away at the second guy. In theory, the whole draft can be signed before the day, but that’s dodgy and anticlimactic.

    With a bit of luck this will be a moot point this time next year, as NFL owners are considering slotting the money for draft picks, like what the NBA does. That way, the contract value and term are already locked in, and you prevent all of these recruit holdouts.
