The Jets back up Rex Ryan again as good little foot soldiers! The Jets felt disrespected, and Bart Scott sounded off on the league and the Patriots. Anybody can be beat. We are a good football team. For all the non-believers! Great Wrestling style of interview!

After their bye week, the New York Giants continued its winning streak. This time the team manhandled the Seattle Seahawks 41-7.

The New York Giants is now the third most successful franchise in the NFL. The Giants have achieved seven titles in the NFL, four of them during the era prior to the Super Bowl, (1927, 1934, 1938 and 1956), and three Super Bowl championships (1986, 1990, 2007).

The Giants have also achieved 10 Conference Championships and 15 Division Championships. From 1933 to 2008, the G-Men have participated in thirty NFL postseasons while fifteen of its players have made it into the Hall of Fame.

After finishing in tenth place in the NFC last season with a record of eight wins and eight losses, the Giants should improve that outcome during this current season.

The Giants began the season crushing the Carolina Panthers 31-18. However, the next two weeks the Giants fall against the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, respectively.

The Big Blue managed get back in victory lane after the fourth week of the NFL when they beat the Chicago Bears 17-3. After imposing 34-10 over the Houston Texans and 28-20 over the Detroit Lions, the Giants were back in track. At its last meeting before going to BYE week, the Giants defeated the Cowboys winning 41-35 in their Monday Night Football date.

The Seattle Seahawks are certainly not as competitive as the New York Giants. Although Seattle has had a couple of significant wins this season, such as a 31-6 crushing of the San Francisco 49ers and a 22-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals, the team doesn’t really have much of a chance of reaching the Super Bowl.

During its visit to Seattle, the New York Giants dominated the match from start to finish. Eli Manning, the Giants’ quarterback, was the star of the match effectively handing out great passes.

The clear superiority allowed the Giants to score three touchdowns in the first period. First came a 2-yard carry for Ahmad Bradshaw. Then Hakeem Nicks, after receiving a pass from Manning, ran 46 yards into the end zone. The third was another carry by Bradshaw, this time from 4 yards away.

In the second quarter, the Giants increased their lead thanks to the excellent pass from Manning that resulted in two touchdowns over a 6-yard run by Steve Smith and another of Kevin Boss, who just had to run 5 yards to make the score 35 – 0.

In the third quarter, the visitors finished humiliating the Seahawks and went up 41-0 with two field goals by Lawrence Tynes.

The Seahawks managed to score its only seven points of the match in the fourth quarter, thanks to a 36-yard touchdown by Ben Obonamu.

The Giants were clearly stronger and finished the game with 487 total yards, while Seattle scored only 162. Eli Manning worked for 290 yards, completed 21 passes of 32, for three touchdowns and had no interceptions. This led the Giants as the best team in the NFC, where they are in the lead with a win rate of .750

For his part, Charlie Whitehurst, Seattle’s QB, didn’t had a good turnout in his debut as a starter in the NFL. He completed 12 of 23 passes for 113 yards and suffered two interceptions.

So far, the Seattle Seahawks have recorded four wins and as many defeats. The team is second in the NFC West. St. Louis is the first in the NFC West with the same winning percentage, but the difference is on its favor for more victories at home.

Indianapolis is winless against division rivals and needs a win versus Houston to climb to the second place of AFC South.

A really tight game ahead is what can be expected from the clash between division rivals Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans on Monday Night Football, as it will be a tie breaker for the second place of the AFC South, where both share a 4-2 record after Week 7. Monday’s night game will also be the rematch of the season opener, where Houston defeated Indianapolis 34-24, the only team in the division that the Texans have played.

Both teams will begin the mid season fresh from Bye Week, and will have decisive games against division rivals in the next 10 matches before the playoffs, where obviating this one, Houston still has 4 (home and road versus Jacksonville and Tennessee), and Indianapolis has 3 (two against Tennessee and one home versus Jacksonville).

The Colt’s will try to add one more victory to their two win strike, and continue showing their fans what this team is really made off, after losing key players product of misfortunate injuries. To the already know absences from Dallas, Clark and Austin Collie, Joseph Addai and Anthony Gonzalez have one leg on that list and one leg on the game, where they will be standing on Monday is still an unsolved question.

These injuries leave the Colts in a precarious situation when you look at the weight that these players have in their offense: with 44 receptions for 503 yards and six touchdowns, the Colts had found in Collie their second best Wide Receiver of the season. While Clark had 37 receptions for 347 yards and three touch downs, which had him as the leader of the Tight Ends.

Taking a glance at how both teams’ quarterbacks where doing before the Bye Week, we find great news for the two of them: Matt Schaub from the Texans was named as the AFC Offensive Player of Week 6, joining teammates Arian Foster -Week 1- and Andre Jonhson -Week 2- as players that have received the recognition this season. Schaub has been passing for 64.5% for 1, 538 yards and 9 touchdowns. On his last game against Kansas City Chiefs he was able to guide his team to a 34-31 victory, where the Texans accomplished a come from behind win, overcoming a 10 point difference in the last quarter. He contributed with 25 passes for 305 yards and 2 touchdowns, and signed his second game without interceptions this season.

Payton Manning is pretty focused this season, and is avoiding all kinds of distractions including his contract extension, which he will not discuss until the end of the season. He has been throwing for 67.3%, for 1,916 yards and 13 touchdowns, plus the not despicable record of suffering only 2 interceptions so far. The biggest problem that he will face on Monday night will be finding solutions for Clark in teammates Jacob Tamme and Brody Eldridge.

The Texans find themselves with a division record of 1-0, and Indianapolis will try to invert their 0-2 situation against them. Although a loss will never be welcomed by any of them, it is still too early to draw a conclusion.

Oakland, CA (PRWEB) July 29, 2008

SLB Ed Hartwell has regained his health and is set to solidify the Raider’s LB position. He has played MLB and could get a shot there on the Raiders’ squad moving Kirk Morrison to the SLB position. The 6’1″ 250lbs. free agent has good lower-body strength, takes excellent pursuit angles and is known for reacting quickly.

With all these factors in place, Linebacker coach Don Martindale states; “Instinctively this guy has not lost a step. He has brought his toughness to the team; which has spread throughout our LB meeting room. This guy is everyday tough! A true veteran; who wants everyone around him to get better.” He goes on to say; “In the National Football League or in College Football something that has always separated Ed from other Linebackers I have coached. You don’t have to watch him play because you can hear him play!”

In Ed Hartwell’s own words; “Becoming an Oakland Raider means more to me than just getting back on the field. It’s a chance to play for the best franchise in football history. It has the best fans that any sport has to offer, a great cast of talented players & coaches, a legend as an owner, one of the best (attack style) defensive coordinators in the league in Rex Ryan, and most of all I get to be reunited with the best coach I have EVER played for Coach Don Martindale. I vow to do everything in my power to bring another Superbowl to Al Davis and the Raider Nation.”

About Edgerton “Ed” Hartwell:

Started at Wisconsin before transferring to Western Illinois University. In 2000, as a Senior, Hartwell was an All-American First Team. Drafted by the Ravens in 2001 with their fourth round pick. In 2002 with Ray Lewis out, Hartwell was the first player other than Lewis to lead the team in tackles with 191. He joined the Atlanta Falcons in 2005.
